Wagner Creek Park in Talent OR

Have you ever thought, “I live in town. I can’t enjoy nature.” Well, there are options. Most urban areas, at least around Oregon, have tiny parks tucked into corners of the city life. A great example is Wagner Creek Park which is just across the creek from our house.

This park is about three quarters of an acre and sits along Wagner Creek in Talent. I was told it was donated to the city of Talent by the Talent Parkside Apartments. The park is full of pine trees and cottonwood trees, making a wonderful little habitat for a variety of small animals and birds. We have even seen deer and possibly a cougar in the area. The park is a serene little spot for an afternoon walk or a little picnic. There is a picnic table set up in the shade and a nice bench down closer to the water’s edge. You will also find free and easy parking as well as a nice walking path.

Look at this beautiful little creek! Peeking into the water you can find little water bugs as well as butterflies or small birds looking for a drink. They have kept this park in a nature state for the most part so you can enjoy a look at natural beauty. We enjoy watching all the birds and a few families of squirrels who live in the trees.

The park has a variety of wildflowers including the Honesty Plant and Miner’s Lettuce. Pine needles cover the ground around them as the trees provide great shade.
So if you find yourself feeling a little stressed but you do not have time to make a trip out of town? Check out one of these tiny little parks. This is a great place to stop, catch your breath, and love the little stuff!
