Let's Introduce Our Kids to Mother Nature

THE PROBLEM

How do I get my child interested in nature? My kids have grown up with their face in their phone, instead of learning and appreciating the world around them.

Can I help?

THE BENEFITS

There have been studies proving that children who spend more time outside are smarter, happier, more attentive, and have less issues with anxiety and depression.

RESOURCES

I will be looking for cool resources to help kids enjoy the earth. Maybe I can find some helpful links, some interesting organizations, or even just some old lady advice.

I hope I can help

Go Outside and Play!!

My mom raised seven kids. When the weather was nice, she encouraged us kids to burn off energy outdoors so she could enjoy a little peace and quiet.

We were always happy to oblige and go out to explore, play games or build forts. Little did we know that we were doing something healthy for ourselves…ewwww!

Kids are being bombarded with information and communication online. Search engines, social media, and videos are everywhere. Everyone enjoys screen time, but don’t forget there is a gorgeous world outside the door.

Letting kids play outside builds their confidence, promotes creativity, and teaches responsibility. The outdoor activity also provides them with a different stimulation, gets their growing bodies moving, and helps with stress.

Encourage your kids to pause a moment, step outside and take a deep breath of fresh air. Take off their shoes and wiggle toes in the grass. Feel the earth’s energy recharging. What do you see around you? Things you never noticed before? Here is hoping your family loves the little stuff as much as I do.
